Al Filippone Associates recently held an informative Home Staging Seminar in our Darien, CT office. The seminar was a big hit within the community thanks to the informative presentation prepared by our in-house home staging team, Stage-2 Sell Home Preparation. The seminar focused on tips for increasing the value of your home and making it stand out against the competition.
Don’t panic if you couldn’t make it to the event. You can still receive plenty of valuable home staging advice to increase the value of your home in time for the spring real estate market.
- Examine the exterior of your home – make sure the yard is well manicured, bushes are trimmed, leaves and other debris are cleaned out of the gutters, front door is freshly painted and any old or tarnished hardware is replaced.
- Declutter, declutter, declutter! Remove any items or furniture that may be hiding the architectural details of your home.
- Pack away most of your family photographs. Buyers want to envision themselves in your home. Seeing your photographs will not only make it difficult for buyers to imagine their family in the space, but also will distract them from appreciating the great qualities your home has to offer.
- Have a musty basement? Chances are if you notice the smell, then buyers will certainly notice it too! Removing old carpets and setting up a dehumidifier will help to freshen the room and make the basement a more usable space for buyers.
